Nordic perspectives of Fukushima: Where are we now and where do we go?
Joint NKS-R and NKS-B Seminar, Stockholm, 12-13 January 2016 (3rd announcement)
NKS proudly announces a new joint NKS-R and NKS-B seminar, which is scheduled to start on the 12th of January at 12:00 and end in the late afternoon of the 13th of January 2016. The seminar will outline the current state of development in Nordic nuclear risk assessment and preparedness and examine implications and needs for the future. The seminar will follow up on the progress since the NKS Fukushima seminar in 2013, and feature the newest results of Nordic research and development. The Nordic status will also be put into international context. In the longer perspective, ideas and thoughts for future work and follow up from the industry, the authorities, expert communities and NKS should be the outcome of the seminar, in particular focusing on issues where nuclear safety and emergency preparedness work can go hand in hand.
A seminar programme is being formed with selected speakers that will guarantee a fruitful discussion. International speakers include Ted Lazo (OECD/NEA) and Chris Clement (ICRP), while IAEA will be presenting their forthcoming comprehensive report on the Fukushima accident.
To register for this seminar, please go to the main NKS web page www.nks.org. There is no registration fee.
More detailed information will follow in a later 4th announcement.
