Abstract:
Small quantities of radioactive material are released
to the environment when burning coal and peat. The
resulting doses from plants equipped with modern air
cleaning devices are assessed. The doses are comparable
to present estimates of those from nuclear power plants.
No radiological effects have been found from the use of
fly ash in building materials.
