Swedish nuclear industry organizations (Ringhals NPP, Forsmark NPP, and Oskarshamn NPP), co-financiers of NKS projects, invite all those interested to a one-day Workshop held May 23, 2025, at Vattenfall Headquarters in Solna, northern Stockholm, Sweden. Attendees can participate in-person or via Microsoft Teams video - participation in-person is encouraged. The Workshop is free of charge.
The purpose of the Workshop is to strengthen the collaboration between the ‘science and research community’ and the ‘nuclear industry community’ in NKS-B research areas (radiological and nuclear emergency preparedness; measurement strategy, technology and quality assurance; radioecology and environmental assessments).
The objectives of the Workshop are to:
- create new networks amongst research, industry and authority professionals,
- bolster the number of incoming NKS-B proposals,
- foster the development of proposals at the intersection of industry’s needs and researcher’s interests.
If you are attending the NKS Seminar 21-22 May “Nordic Nuclear Collaboration: Adapting To New Realities”, why not stay an extra day in Stockholm - it is an excellent opportunity to make new connections!
Draft programme:
- Plenary sessions on current work and needs from nuclear industry, and research groups’ areas of expertise.
- Topical break-out sessions aimed at generating NKS-B proposal ideas, which are complementary for both industry and researchers.
Registration:
Please send an email to nks@vattenfall.com with the heading ‘NKS-B WORKSHOP MAY 23’ no later than Thursday the 10th of April.
In your registration email, please provide: Your name, organization, and if you plan to attend in person or via Teams.
If you are interested in the subject but are unable to participate, feel free to send an email to the above address stating that you wish to be kept in-the-loop.
After the registration deadline, those interested will receive requests to provide information regarding their area of expertise and suggestions for future project proposals. For inspiration please see: Swedish Industry (NKS co-financiers) thoughts on tentative project proposals. Your ideas will help organizers develop a tailored agenda and provide background for discussions during the Workshop!
Warm welcome in attending the Workshop and sharing your ideas.
